How long will the lg optimus one stay up to date with other android phones?

I want a new phone. i think i want the LG optimus one. Its been on the market of a little over a year. i heard its a great phone with droid apps and etc... but i was wondering how long it will last until the droid updates will be to advanced. right now the device can still handle android 2.3 platform
