i have 1991 GMC sierra 2500 454 7.4 liter truck and it didnt pass emissions because the rpm's were 1700 and the guy said it was not supposed to be higher than 1100 and he couldent run the test until the rpm's were lower than 1100, he also told us to see if we could adjust the idle on it. so we i went to Orelly's and a worker told us to take out the Idle control motor and clean it with brake cleaner so we did, we also adjusted the throttle wire by turning a screw. and it did start but then it sounded like there was to much gas and it choked out died and didnt turn back on?? how do i know if its the Idle control motor or if its something else??
