how do i get ringtones on samsung montage?

hello I just got a Samsung montage for assurance wireless, and I cant figure out how to get ringtones on it. I thought it was as simple as making a file called Ringtones on a sd card like music but its not working. the ringtones on phone suck I want my own. I usually use funtonia.com but my account just expired, and I don't want to renew if the new phone wont work with them ringtones. i really appreciate the help.
that site does not appear to work either with my phone. this is starting to drive me crazy! all I want is my own ringtones
