How can I create a picture slideshow and burn to DVD?

I am looking to create a slideshow out of 100 pictures that I have. I would then like to burn the slideshow on a DVD, and be able to play such DVD on a dvd player.

Is this possible? if yes, can anybody refer me to a free software that I can use, and guide me on how to do it?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Windows Movie Maker - it's free and easy as can be. You just import the images, drage them to their own cells, set teh time and you can even use custom transitions. That's how some look like they dissolve or slide out or box in and so on.
You can even apply filters to the video if you want to make it look like Super 8 film and otehr stuff.
You can even import a song or two and put them into the timeline to play during the slide show.
Once it's all done you just save it and burn it!

Just Google for download windows movie maker, I think it's only available as part of Windows Live Essentials now, but you'll get it figured out and working in no time flat!
