to start things off i'll list the items i'm interested in hooking up, and what i already have available.
xbox360 (hdmi cable)
pc (hdmi cable)
LED 1080p TV
currently, i have all of these, among many other gaming systems via an a/v splitter, connected to my tv. i have the audio running out into a receiver with a few crappy speakers that are connected through crappy speaker wire. I am buying a 5.1 speaker system and just want to make sure that if having everything running into the tv via hdmi and composite cables, then out of the tv into the receiver via composite, will i get true 5.1 surround sound out of the speaker system?
if this is not the case, i'd appreciate a remedy to my dilemma. thanks!
