help with dvd stuff please?

as indicated by the title im pretty lost with dvd stuff. I have some things i want to burn onto a dvd-r 120 minutes. it is a 4.38 gb disk. (you probably already new that). My question in how much can i put on there? Some of the things i want to burn are longer than 2 hours, some are 3 hours. will that fit? im sure there is a way to figure it out by file size but i looked and it all looked greek to me! lol thanks!!

yes, it will fit on your disk.
time doesn't matter.
if u r willing to play the disk on a DVD player then i will say you first convert the file to ".VOB" format with a converter and burn it with Nero or other such program. because most DVD players don't recognize other formats.
