how do you get the org. $? Help please! If there is a sale for 20% off an item, and the item is 14.50 on sale, how do you get the orginal price? I have gotten 16.68 by using the sentence 20% of n is 14.50 and I've gotten $18.13 also by using the equation X=P/R (price over rate(percentage) ) which is 14.50 divided by 80% because that is what you pay. Which way is correct? If neither, then how do you solve it? Please help!
Yes this is 8th grade homework, i have already gotten 2 answers but if you dont feel comfortable with giving the answer away, that is fine. I would be delighted if you could still give me the equation please! =) Thanks in Advance
