Having difficulty with my Motorola modem?

Hi I am trying to install the Motorola SB5101 broadband modem onto my Intel Centrino which runs windows 7 and I have tried everything. I am trying to download it without the CD which I don't have and am using a USB connection which makes it tricky.
I downloaded the SB5100_USB driver and then tried to run the "Motorola USB driver removal utility" but it only gets halfway through the Driver removal progress and an error box comes up saying "Access to an unnamed file was denied."
I then tried using an ethernet connection but my laptop did not even recognize it. When i insert the USB cable the PC/Activity light goes on but this doesn't even happen with the ethernet.
It is really getting frustrating - I have used the modem on this laptop before when the man came out and installed it but I had to get the computer refreshed and it lost all the old data which makes it tricky without a CD.
Can anyone help me solve this issue?
