I have recieved mixed information regarding the interchange of the front differential. The front differential housing is busted on my 99 GMC Sierra 2500, and I have access to a 99 Chevy 1/2 Ton truck with a Front axle housing that looks the same. I was led to believe they interchange but I was also told that the splines will not line up when bolting the axles shafts back to the housing because the GMC 2500 is an 8 lug and the Chevy is a 6 lug.
Please help.
