...upgrade? i've had my samsung droid charge for 14 months now, and it says that im eligible for an upgrade in april(but my contracts over nxt yr in september). i want a new smartphone badly, so is it possible to pay the early termination/cancellation fee, cancel ur line for a new phone number and start a 2 yr contract where i dont hav to buy the phone at full retail price??

I would think you could but in the end after paying the early termination fee you are basically paying for the extra money for the phone. And careful because any major changes in your account could start a new contract! Get your info from Verizon maybe if u explained it to then they could try and cut you a deal.. Or look at phones online on Ebay or Amazon.
