1. Any modifications must be reported to your insurance company, who will charge for the extra risk, if you don't tell they they will not cover you when you need it!
2. All modifications cost more than (any) value that may seem to be added.
3. Most owners will do the work themselves so they are not paying £50-£100 per hour to devalue their car.
