ESPN thought Ashley Young was Paul Scholes

</p> Manchester United opened up their schedule of preseason friendlies in the U.S. with a 4-1 win over the New England Revolution on Wednesday night and in the second half, ESPN gave viewers a bit of a shock.

According to their graphic (pictured above thanks to @icemanrbc), Paul Scholes was substituted out of the match for Gabriel Obertan. Of course, the problem there is that Paul Scholes was not being subbed off, nor was he playing in the match, because he is retired. Aside from his testimonial match next month, he doesn't play football anymore.

The mix-up must have had something to do with the fact that Ashley Young, who actually was subbed off for Obertan, now wears Scholes' old number (18). Still, Paul Scholes is retired and he is definitely not Ashley Young.
