On one hand it is good as leave notice stays only two weeks (giving me an advantage to look for a new job), on the other hand it is difficult to plan the future.
Has UK employer have a right to extend probation period which is stated in contract, simply by acknowledging me by an email? Is it valid if I do not reply?
just in case, the letter:
Dear V,
I do not feel able to confirm the satisfactory completion of your probationary period even after we have already extended it for an additional three months. I wish therefore to extend it a further three months to the end of March 2010. Until you are confirmed in the position, the notice period remains at two weeks for either side.
During this period I would like to see a major improvement in your time-keeping; in your concentration on the job; in your productivity; and in your readiness to assist others in this office with their work. By all means feel free to discuss these issues with Alice and me.
John
