DVD Rippers Have Not Been Working...Help!?

So many of you may have seen me asking questions about finding a DVD ripper that is compatible with Mac OS X Lion, and I've found about 7 today. I've tried all of them but moments after opening each one they have all quit unexpectedly. Why would this be? I just want to rip my DVDs
