DVD drive problems! Help needed!?

I have been having problems on my laptop with the dvd drive.
I tried to to burn a disk and it failed, since then it has not been able to play my dvd movies etc.
I have tried disabling it and re-enabling it, but no results.
The laptop is in excellent condition and all components work fine.
It is a Gateway NV57H58u
Any help would be really appreciated!

I think it's lens was scratched. Consult with your hardware engineer he will help you out.
