does anyone know this Halloween cartoon?

ok. i'm not sure how old this cartoon is. i remember watching it when i was younger. i can't remember the whole details but i remember there was this group of kids that were friends and they always went trick or treating together. once year one of them got real sick and everyone thought he was going to die. the other kids set out on an adventure to help him by trying to find this tree that had little jack o lanterns in it carved in the shapes of peoples faces. i think they may have given up some of there life to relight the candle in his so he would live or they took it away from death or something. i can't remember much of it just that i loved to watch it but it only came on at Halloween. any help is appreciated thanks in advance.
