prophecies to be fulfilled? Why? Y not? Next Bible prophecy to be fulfilled is most likely to be Zechariah 12:2-8

Then probably Ezekiel 38-39

Revelation has the classic pattern of escalation: in Rev 6:8, 25% of world population die from as mix of war, famine & the wild beasts of the earth - (most likely driven to attack men by drugs developed for that very purpose)

In Rev 9:13-18, 33% of survivors die in war begun @ R Euphrates - which is also the trigger point for Rev 16:12 launch of Armageddon itself

Thank God that the accelerating, intensifying birthpains, prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 24, are specifically to bring on the Great Delivery - the instant airlift 'Rapture' resue of all who love Jesus, in good time, before the 'terrible time that is as nothing before it'

See Matt 24:30-42, 1 Corinthians 15:51-58 & 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11

Zechariah 12:2-8

New International Version (NIV)

2 “I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem.

3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.

4 On that day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness,” declares the LORD. “I will keep a watchful eye over Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the nations.

5 Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the LORD Almighty is their God.’

6 “On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume all the surround
Ezekiel 38

The LORD’s Great Victory Over the Nations

1 The word of the LORD came to me:

2 “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of[a] Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him

3 and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal.

4 I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords.

5 Persia, Cush[c] and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets,

6 also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.

7 “‘Get ready; be prepared, you and all the hordes gathered about you, and take command of them.

8 After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nation
Obviously the tribal names of the time are used, but their migrations & name changes are clearly traceable in history

Persia there is Iran, Cush is Ethiopia, Put is Libya, Gomer is Germany & Bet Togarmah is Turkey

Gog & Magog = Russia

On with Ezekiel 38-39

9 You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.

10 “‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme.

11 You will say, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars.

12 I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock and goods, living at the center of the land.”

13 Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all her villages[e] will say to you, “Have you come to plunder? Have you gathered your hordes to loot, to carry off silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods and to seize much plunder?”’

14 “Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: In that day, when my people Israel are
I've just seen that what shows in preview got clipped in printout, so I'll just print this for now:-

17 “‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: You are the one I spoke of in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel. At that time they prophesied for years that I would bring you against them.

18 This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign LORD.

19 In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.

20 The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground.

21 I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign LORD. Every man’s sword will be against his brother.

22 I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him.

23 And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.’

Ezekiel 39

1 “Son of man, prophesy against Gog and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of[f] Meshek and Tubal.

2 I will turn you around and drag you along. I will bring you from the far north and send you against the mountains of Israel.

3 Then I will strike your bow from your left hand and make your arrows drop from your right hand.

4 On the mountains of Israel you will fall, you and all your troops and the nations with you. I will give you as food to all kinds of carrion birds and to the wild animals.

5 You will fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD.

6 I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in safety in the coastlands, and they will know that I am the LORD.

7 “‘I will make known my holy name among my people Israel. I will no longer let my holy name be profaned, and the nations will know that I the LORD am the Holy One in Israel.

8 It is coming! It will surely take place, declares the Sovereign LORD. This is the day I have spoken of.

Matt 24 'birthpains' intensify & accelerate to bring on the Great Delivery instant airlift Rapture rescue of all who love Jesus

It is so, the stage is set. And the end has begun.
bless you.

Deuteronomy 31:17-18 (King James Version)
17Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?
18And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.

Famines nowadays are small and containable, contagious disease is controllable. War is rarer now than in the past, and a smaller proportion of non combatants are killed despite what the media says, the terrible conflagrations that happened in the 19th and 20th centuries will not happen again in this phase of human history. Natural disasters have always happened and the consequences of them are far less than in the past.
The murder rate in England is now 30 times less that it was 300 years ago, the same is true of most advanced nations, including the U.S. where the murder rate was shockingly high during the 19th century. The only thing that really fuels crime in the west is drugs.

What does Matt 24 have to do with rapture? Rapture has already taken place when this comes. Compare this instead with Revelation 7:
9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,

12Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

13And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

14And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

When Jesus was alive the Church did not exist. John was very instrumental in the Church and did not ask who were the twenty four elders because he knew the church. Notice in verse 14 above that John does not know who these guys are. Do not forget that the Messiah is the King of Israel.

Before Christ was raised from death there were two groups in the Scriptures--The Jew and the Gentile. Then there were 3--the Church was added. The Church is not longer in the earth in revelation and once again there are only Jew and Gentile.

Psalm 83 might fit along with Zechariah or it may be seperate events.

Isaiah 17:1
The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Some people say that Babylon is the meaning for something else. I won't be surprised at all to see it actually rebuilt after the USA pulls out of Iraq.

As for Ezekiel look and see what our pals Putin and old spot head Gorbachev are up to.

I believe you are called something known as brainwashed. The Bible is a bunch of hogwash anyway, so If you don't want to seem like a schizophrenic, I advise you give people some solid evidence for your 'endtimes' nonsense.

The Black Death killed close to 25% of the world population by some estimates. So surely, you're 650+ years too late for the end of the world, no?

Do not lean on your own understanding. His ways are not our ways and His mind is not out mind. God has got this all we need to do is be in His will and purpose. People cannot save the world only Jesus can.

Bible prophecies need to be read in the context of the times in which they were written. They generally take the form of warnings of catastrophe if the people to whom they are addressed don't change their ways - usually adopting the religion or culture of people they live among or neighbour.

One way of claiming that a prophecy has been fulfilled is to pick on an event or set of events and read it or them back into ancient scripture, and twist that scripture to make it fit the events and mean something the original prophet or scribe could not have meant or conceptualised.

Another is to accredit an ancient prophet with prophesying events that he could never have known about - if indeed he was real, and not a legend or a demi-god adopted by the Israelites but transformed to be consistent with their later monotheistic beliefs. This has happened in the gospels, which are littered with claims that something was done to fulfil a prophecy; an example is "Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us" (Matthew 1:22-23/Isaiah 7:14).

And theologians often read back later scriptures, reflecting beliefs current at the time they were written, to earlier scriptures. For example, John identifies the great dragon in Revelation, that ancient serpent (from Sumerian myth, symbolising the waters of chaos), with Satan and the Greek equivalent the Devil (from Diabolos that has similar meanings as Satan, such as Accuser); that has been read back into Genesis 3 to claim that the serpent in the garden of Eden was Satan - even though these were separate myths.

To comment on your example, the prophecies in Revelation were expected to happen within the lifetimes of those living at the time, the 1st or 2nd century CE, followed by 1,000 years. They just didn't happen, although believers push them further and further into the future to other times, when they continue not to happen.
