Do Spanish DVD's play on Canadian laptops/desktop computers?

I know that Spain has Region 2 DVD format, so it won't play in Canadian dvd players...but what about laptops and computers?

DVD's made in Spain are in PAL format, most computers should be able to play a dvd in PAL format, but not all.
Secondly it depends on your computer disk drive if it uses RPC-1firmware it can play discs from any region. If it uses RPC-2 firmware you will not be able to play it.
If your computer is relatively new, it probably has RPC-2, I know there are 3rd party software that convert RPC-1 drives to RPC-1 But this process may void your computers warranty.
