Do i need to hide my IP address when downloading torrents?

I'm completely new to the world of torrents. i've downloaded a few movies and tv shows the past few days but now i'm discovering that i may need to hide my IP address to avoid being caught or hacked? Any ideas? should i set up a proxy? i really don't want to pay for any software so is there something free?

If you using downloading site more you better hide the ip address.If you feel this site is not good ,you can hide your ip address and use that.You no need to hide ip address always.To check ip address you can hide ip software or else proxy server.Visit the site IP-details.com check ip address and it's details.
