Do I need the Verizon FIOS Battery Backup Unit (BBU) if I don't have their

telephone service? I only have FIOS internet and TV service. We had a power outage last week and now the BBU is beeping occasionally. The "replace battery" light is on and I don't want to shell out $30-$40 for a new one if I don't need to. Thanks!
