and State? Not to tax them for revenue, but for penalties when they step out of line. For example lobbying their bills through the legislation branch or interfering with the quality of the kid's education, or even instituting on government property a theocracy or any religious symbols.
Here is a another example the Church of the Later day of Saints funneling money to bill a called propostion 8 to protect the santity of marriage which disolved certain unalienable rigths to the gay community this bill aslo force California's legislation to rewrite the states constitution with out the people that are residence in California voting to have it changed otherwise.
