In the first weekend of football with non-replacement referees officiating, the zebras have been made to feel like rock stars in stadiums across the country. They were given a standing ovation before Thursday's game in Baltimore, and hear many more cheers before today's Week 4 games. Ed Hochuli's crew was given an extra honor before the Cincinnati Bengals -- Jacksonville Jaguars game on Sunday by CBS. Each referee was announced like a player.
The honeymoon didn't last long, though, as fans were soon booing some of the rusty referees' more questionable calls. At least now we know that Hochuli started working on those famous guns at the University of Texas-El Paso.
