I am interested to find out if SACD players (or if some SACD player variants for that matter) can playback DVD-a discs.
I know that high end dac/transport cd players such as the krell cipher can playback both sacd and DVD-a, but I am not sure wether this applies to all SACD players or if this is just a unique feature to specialist SACD player models (cipher being a good example).
I don't want to go on with too much questions, but during DVD-a playback on a sacd cd player (if they can play back DVD-a discs), will the player process/pass through the dvd-a signal in its native 24 bit PCM or will it convert the signal into DSD?
Information about this would be great
thanks in advance
