I'm trying to identify a sci-fi book I read over 10 years ago. I don't remember the title or author just a few plot points. The main character(s) are commanders or at least soldiers kept in isolation and heavily monitored. A situation similar to Ender's Game. The difference here is how the battles themselves are conducted. The character's were asked to hold there hands over an electronic map or board with extreme precision. They did this for long periods of time where even slight movements from there fingertips had impacts on the battle. At this point I'm willing to look into any guesses or searching methods.
