Why can't people understand that it is spelled Blu-ray? I really hate people that say blue-ray or blue-ray DVD. First of all, its BLU. Second of all, its NOT a DVD. They are completely different video formats where DVD uses a wide red laser and blu-ray uses a thin blue laser.

This is meant to inform people that it is spelled BLU-RAY BLU-RAY BLU-RAY BLU-RAY BLU-RAY BLU-RAY BLU-RAY BLU-RAY BLU-RAY BLU-RAY

Best answer goes to whoever says the most awesomist thing
its called Blu-ray instead of blue ray because Blu-ray is a better name. If you create some kind of 'Yellow omega hyper transitionary disc ray standard' or something you wont name it that, you'll name it something cool. same thing they did for blu-ray

i guess they named it Blu-Ray to make it look and sound more interesting.. or to catch people's attention

It was named Blu-Ray because they couldn't get a registered trademark on Blue-Ray. The name is derived from the blue-violet laser used to read the disc, and in fact the correct name for the technology is Blu-Ray Disc, not Blu-Ray.

Why is it called blu ray if it's supposed to be describing a blue ray? Oh wait, it originated from Sony, those wonderful people who gave us Pearl Harbor. That explains the poor use of the English language.
