What causes eye colors to fade/change in humans? I was born with completely black eyes, you could not tell the iris from the pupil but every year they get lighter and lighter. Now that I am 18 my eyes are completely gold and orange when you shine light on them. My father had black eyes when he was a child but now in his 40's they are a mixture of blue green brown and yellow. What causes Eyes to do this?
