I watch comedy central a lot for the shows, but certain days they have the stand up comedy. I noticed that after their jokes, instead of laughs the audience clap and cheer/whistle. Real laughter is very seldom. I don't get it. Aren't comedians supposed to make people LAUGH? I know applauding is a form of recognition but it seems to me strange that audience now subsitute laughing with cheering. I also find it extremely annoying and have to turn down the tv a lot. Anyone else notice this?
