Let's say u want to buy a new smartphone from AT&T and renew your contract for another 2 years.
Now, if u don't like the smartphone after a week and if u want to return it I know u can return the smartphone and there will be a restocking fee.
But what will happen to the 2-year contract which you would have renewed at the time you got the phone? Will that also be nullified and you go back to clean slate where you started?
OR Are u still obligated for the 2-year contract even though u canceled and returned the device within a week?
I am looking for an answer specific to this question as opposed to links pointing to AT&T policy.

hello, i work with phones, im a dealer not a carrier(yes there is a difference lol) and pretty much when you upgrade(renew your contract) then decide to return the device, one of two things can happen, you can opt to switch it for a different phone, which will keep the new two year obligation going, or you can reverse your upgrade, which is just returning the device, and cancelling that obligation if you wanted to use your upgrade from a different source, such as walmart, radioshack, bestbuy, etc. so you can do either really, its your choice, just be careful with the timing on this because most places you have 14,15,or 30 days to do such a thing. hope this helped
