re Android and/or GMail Upload Setting?

No time check, but what was the setting in GMail and Android GMail that allows/prevents uploads to attach files.

My mind is drawing a blank right now...
1. for regular GMail on a Windows computer and...
2. for an Android 2.1 device/pad

there is no setting for this but try basic file upload on the first page of settings
