am I cheap for giving a used dvd as an xmas gift instead of a new one?

When I bought the dvd, I decided to swap it with my own copy and keep the one I bought , so I'm giving my used copy as the gift and keeping the brand new one.
Ive never met the person I'm giving the dvd to and she will like it no matter what I think.
I am so unsure of what to do I have not sent it out yet.

Why would you do that? Is there something wrong with the used one and that's why you don't want to keep it? Scratches in it or something?

Give the brand new one, in the unopened package.
