excessive thirst and frequent urination.? A middle-aged woman admitted to the unit this morning, complains of excessive thirst and frequent urination. She is diabetic with a blood sugar level of 350 ng/ml, what is an accurate interpretation of this data?

With a blood sugar that high, her kidneys are trying to lower it by excreting the excessive sugar. This is leading to the increased urine output and the increased loss of fluids through the urine is causing the excessive thirst.
