yesterday the abs light came on, radio went out, car lost all power. replaced the alternator with a new one and the same thing happened tonight. lights were dim, abs light came on, radio went off, headlights went off, parked car and it lost all power. Jump started it and it ran long enough to move it and then wouldn't re-start. Is this new alternator bad too or is the battery bad??? please help!!!!

yea battery might not be holding charge. take it to autozone and get the system checked its free. also check the tension of the belt also. also check if the connections are tight sometimes if the connections are not tight it will drain the battery. they should of checked the alternator to see if it was giving out good charge before you bought a new one. get the battery checked to see if it is ok before buying a new one

take the battery to an autozone to be tested they'll test it for free. if it's not the battery the alternator is bad or a wire is loose or broken.

the battery is only used to start the car
once the car starts it runs off the alternator
so if the car is running and died than yes i would say another bad alternator

this time take your battery and alt. to get checked at auto zone
or your local auto parts store
