I have made purchase of a 1983 300SD with just 35K actual miles. Car was located in FL ( I live in OK), After I found it I contacted the seller and had them send me some high resolution pics and I also pulled the carfax which showed it had been serviced by the local MB Dealership since new. However, it has been driven very little since the ladies husband passed away 10 years ago. I intend to take it to an independent shop upon arrival. I have been told that it is in good running condition. Other than the obvious fluids/filter changes, belt and hose inspection, what else should I be concerned with? I know there will be issues along, but from all I have read, I'm wondering about gunk in the fuel system/tank. Being raised on a farm, I've been around diesels all my life. But I think a Benz might be a little different than a John Deere. Any feedback guys would be appreciated. I'm normally not an impulse buyer, but I lost all senses when I ran across this one. LOL
