if the horse name was friday the correct way to say it would be: "a cowboy rode into town on friday"
because if you say "A cowboy and his horse rode into town on Friday" and the horse name is friday you are implying the horse (and the cowboy) is riding another horse named friday into town.
so if the answer is the the horse name is friday this is one dumb riddle and incorrect too
