...heat. What should I try next? Even after this change there is no heat and temp gauge still reads 1/4. What would be the next thing I should replace? What else could be causing my lack of heat.
I should add that I assumed it was the thermostat from the beginning so replaced it and refilled...
My car just started over heating lately and everybody keeps telling me it's the thermostat. Well the dealership wants like $200 to replace a $10 part which is crazy.
the thermostat on my saab 900 is stuck open and i was thinking about making the repair myself where is the thermostat and if possible does anyone have good instructions on replacing it?
...central heating. ? The thermostat needs replacing as it doesn't work and has a crack in it. Is it simply a case of wiring it up or is there more to it than that? I have seen them in Wickes for about £15.00.
the problem? My car was leaking water because of a leaking water pump. Yesterday I had it replaced with a new water pump and a new thermostat. It ran well afterwards. But since disassembly caused some transmission fluid to leak; I took a drive to the parts store afterwards to pick some up. On my...
I should add the I followed the top hose only to find no old thermostat. I know now, it is the bottom hose. I just don't see how to get to it. There's too much crap in the way.
How much so you think it would cost to install a thermostat on an 01 Pontiac Azteck by a mechanic? I already bought the thermostat but I cant install it cause its not easy to get to its pretty burried... Thanks!
My mechanic charges about $30 an hour i believe
I know its normaly like a 10 minute...
I don't think my thermostat s letting water past the water neck to cool the engine because the temp sensor is out on it and my truck i know has to be heating up without water getting past so what will happen if I just take it out will it hurt anything?
Not worried about the heater especially...
I have a 1995 Chevy Monte Carlo, when I get the car going, after it warms up, the temp gauge will go to hot , but the heater will blow out cold air then all of a sudden the temp will go down again and I get some heat through the heater. This keeps going on with it going up and down. Does this...
what grain of truth says. The heater core is usually the highest point in the cooling system. You still have air in the system and your heater core doesn't get enough coolant to heat. All the air is in the core.
A few days ago, my car started overheating. I can drive for about 10-15 minutes, then the gauge is all the way in the red zone and the little light comes on. It is full of coolant.
Also, yesterday, I was parked but had the car running. The temp gauge went all the way to the red and the car...
