Is the automatic gearbox (4 speed) from a 1988 Saab 9000 GLE (2.0 i4, non-turbo) the same as the 4 speed automatic from the 1988 Saab 9000 turbo.

I recently had a Saab 9-5 3.0L V-6 turbo. I brought it to a mechanic who only worked on Saabs. I unfortunately crashed the car and now I'm looking for a new one. I would like to know if other people have experienced problems with the V-6 engines. Also, what are some opinions on the ARC 9-5 models?
I'm having a used engine replaced in my Saab, and the dealership is giving me a hard time about documentation on the engine. Is there any markings on such and engine that would allow me to look up vehicle history? Is the vin on the engine?

If so, what did you think? is the car fast, quick? I had a 2000 Saab 9-5 SE V6 turbo which was pretty quick. There is a difference of 15 hp between the two models. I just want to know what people think.
