I want to turn off ALL the sounds (menu clicking sound, keyboard sound while writing message) EXCEPT the ringing sound when someone calls me and the sound when someone sends me a message. All the other sounds must be turned off. How can I do that?

the touchscreen works sometimes and it doesn't at other times. the calibration doesnt seem to work when i tried to re-align it. should i reset it to factory settings? if i reset it do i require any passwords? *it's not in warranty so i can't take it to the manufacturer* thank you for answering
