I know it is possible to download the codecs individually, but do they also come incorporated with the NXE?

What are the best ways to do this? My player is compatible with both, and I want to know if I should use the USB port or burn disks. If the latter, how could I burn them with Nero? Thanks in advance, even if you just look at this.
