The house I'm renting has a useless slow oven but does have a convection microwave. Can I use this to bake cakes? Do I need to adjust the temperature or cooking times from the standard measurements in the recipes?
So lately I've become interested in baking. I want some recipe ideas for beginners in baking; I want recipes that don't require a real lot of materials and those that do not have ingredients that are hard to find. Simple and spectacular recipes will do.

I made sweet potatoes for work and had to move them to smaller baking pans because I can't reheat them in the small oven at work in the large baking dish. I originally cooked at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. At what temp do I reheat and how long? I also have to put the marshmallows on top. THANKS!
I'm baking cookies for a potluck, but after getting back from the store I realized I have no metal baking pan. I have a glass casserole dish though that's about the same size. Would that work? I was thinking maybe I could line it with tin foil if needed. Suggestions?
