My friend bet me that my dad's 2008 chevrolet silverado was only a half ton because it only has 2 leaf spring bars. I told him it's a 3/4 ton because, compared to my grandpa's 2006 chevrolet 1500 1/2 ton, my dad's has a 5.3 liter in it. My grandpa's is only a 4.8L. Also my dad's has bigger tires...
...use my 3/4 parts on the 1/2? Being so close in year, i think the frames are the same and i know i'd have to find a 3/4 ton front axle to match, anything else i should keep in mind. essentially i wanted to make the 1/2 ton 4wd a 3/4 ton 4wd.

in. dimensions? Wanting to replace our old baseboard register vents. The vents that we have now have odd dimensions. Now most vents are made 18" in length. Haven't been able to find any at 18 3/4". Does anyone have any suggestions?
Who & what has the better overall performance and getting replacement/upgrade parts and easy for rebuilding. ZF, NV, Tremec, etc. Please don't ask how much hp & engine size. Just focus on transmission for torque, shifting between gears and others things pro and con.
