i want to put a dvd on my ipod with a free program that actually works, i don't mind if its slow as long as it works

I use Mac the Ripper and then I use Quicktime to change it to an mp4.

I use HandBrake it it works great for me. The interface is a bit confusing and it takes a while to rip and convert the dvd.. but it does work and it's free. Just google it.
