I have songs on my iphone and just want to add a few new ones I downloaded. Why does it have to backup and re-sync to my phone? And why does it take so long? Is there a quicker way?

it depends on how many songs you put on at a time.
i have the iTouch and its the same thing pretty much without the actual phone part. If you download a bunch of songs at one specific time then of course its going to take forever!

Because you don't have a 8gig Sansa. Get a Sansa dude. Don't let Apple rule you.

Peace,

Apple's backup method for the iPod Touch and iPhone is terribly time-consuming. There really isn't a way around it. If you're on an older computer, it may only have USB 1.1, which is 40 times slower than USB 2.0. You could also try checking "Manually manage my music" (or something to that effect). Then you can just drag and drop songs to your iPhone.

My dad has one and it can even take all night!! I think it might be the size, shape or how much things you have on it such as applications, (games) songs and pictures. Also I don't know if there is a quicker way. I'll ask my dad. He's an expert at this kind of stuff. I'll answer again! Hope that got you started!

P.S. You are lucky that you even have an iphone!!
