Pros and Cons of a Mini Cooper?

I want to save up for a mini cooper; I want it to be my very first car.

I live in Europe (Germany) so small cars are a practical must if I want to get through villages and cities, and get good parking.

What are the pro's and con's?

How to Automatics handle compared to standard (stick-shift)?

I'm learning with a standard car (no idea the brand) so I'll be able to drive both.
