Can My Baby Hear Music At 5 Months?

I read something the hospital gave me about the baby hearing my voice at about three or four months. If it can hear my voice it should be able to hear other things too right? Like music. It said that it's not until about the 7th month that the baby responds to sound but just because it can't respond doesn't mean it can't hear it, right? I was also wondering if it is okay to put the head phones around my stomach? I fear either having them too loud and hurting the babies ears or having them too low and the baby can't hear it. How loud is loud enough? My baby is listening to Celtic music.

Yes it can if you have headphones up there. It's ok but because of the safe volume level the baby will probably hear it very muffled. It won't sound the same as what you and I hear.
