How do I update my iPhone 3G to 2.2 without it getting locked again?

I bought an iPhone 3G from South Africa, and I got it unlocked. I am now using it in Pakistan on a Ufone sim, and I'm wondering if I should update it to 2.2, but I'm scared it'll get locked, and its difficult to find someone to unlock it here. My last iPhone (1st gen) got locked and I was unable to unlock it using QuickPwn. Any tips on what I should do?

If it is a temporary unlock chances are there to get locked during update process. So I suggest you get it permanent unlocked. I suggest you can approach Simpleunlocking.com and specify the country,locked network of iPhone 3G.Based on the availability you can get the permanent unlock service along with free instructions.
