If I only have a 1080i tv, does it matter if my blu ray player is set to 1080p?

I have another question involving my blu ray. I had recently purchased a Sony BR player and noticed that in some scenes, peoples faces were fuzzy looking and not clear at all. I had never noticed that on a regular dvd. But I did only notice it in the darker scenes.

YES.. It does!
I had A Polaroid LCD That does only support up2 1080i...
but I have a PS3 that it set to 1080P and it made weird sounds and looked with a lot of lines.. like if you would use a Coaxial cable!
Well.. I did video options and chose automatically set.. and it took it only up to 1080i...
so If your LCD does not support that.. it will show the picture.. but will look real ugly!
Get A Full HD one.. Like a Sony Bravia XBR..
I have 1 now.. and Man.. My Blu Rays Look AWSOME!
