I have a 99 chevy metro 4 cyl auto transmission, the inner drive shaft/trans seal is leaking. I pulled the half shaft and seal, the seal didn't seem dammaged. I removed the clip from the cv shaft and installed it into the trans and checked for play, which was excessive. Do I need to tear down the transaxle and replace carrier parts or is there a simpler fix for cv support? is this a common problem, and could you tell me if there was a recall for this problem?
