The Headphone socket in my JVC Stereo doesn't work. What could be the problem?

My mum bought it in 1995. It's never been dropped or anything, although the speakers did blow. I recently dug it out and hooked it to some new speakers, but discovered the Headphone socket doesn't work properly. The sound only comes out of the left Headphone.

It's never had any abuse, so I can't figure out why it wouldn't be working. The only thing I can think of is dust. It's obviously quite dusty. Do you think dust might be causing the problem, and if so, is there a way I can fix it. I've tried blowing into it with no results, and when I wiggle the jack around it doesn't crackle in the right ear at all.

It's a 1/4 TSR phones output socket.

check and make sure it's not your headphones.

usually the problem is either one of the welds has broken, or one of the connections is bent back. Either problem is easy to fix.
