Motorola Q 9c mobile device center?

okay, long story short. my boyfriend broke the screen on his phone and he got a new one today but he needs the pics off the old one. there are some very important pictures on his old phone. i have tried just syncing it with my comp but my computer (vista home premium 32) does recognize it. it installs the drivers for some network thing but never for the phone. if i can get the computer to recognize the phone i could get the pic but i cant. is there anyone who can help me with this???? i have tried turning off the network connection functionality but again i cant see the screen so i dont know if i really am turning it off or not. but either way it isnt working still please help
