chevy malibu maxx keyless entry remote not working right.?

The remote is defective maybe , it can also be your car's computer.

get it checked out by a tech.

I am having the same problem with both remotes on my Malibu Maxx. I took them to the dealer and they said that both are defective and they need to be replaced. On the back of the rubber buttons, there is carbon and eventually it wears off. This causes the remote to not function properly. Mine only works for unlocking the car, and opening the hatch. I cannot use the remote start or the lock button.

Had both of my remotes crap out on me ,worked intermitently or not at all .found that the battery clip,hold down was breaking lose from the circuit board no contact no work! Re solderd them at all 3 conecting points and now they are working perfectly

Hey can you put a diagram up of where and what points to solder please

Had same problem. Took remotes apart and wiped rubber contact points and copper points on chip with alcohol. Both work perfectly. Glad I was able to avoid the stealership.
